Pricing and plan limits
Last reviewed: · MentorDrop
MentorDrop offers Starter, Core, Pro and Business. All of them include Q&A, Library, Events, Qualify, Articles and Offers as described in these guides; Core and above can remove MentorDrop branding. Plans differ in their team seats, monthly credits and video storage. This guide covers the prices, what a credit is, what happens when they run out and how the free trial works.
Quick answer
- Starter costs $39 or 39 € + VAT a month ($348 or 348 € + VAT a year, equivalent to $29 or 29 € + VAT a month). Core costs $99 or 99 € + VAT a month ($948 or 948 € + VAT a year, equivalent to $79 or 79 € + VAT a month). Pro costs $199 or 199 € + VAT a month; Business, $499 or 499 € + VAT. The annual total is charged in one payment; credits renew every month.
- Credits pay for all automatic work. One credit covers one minute of transcribed audio; Qualify, published articles and the similar answers shown on submitting use their real cost. Writing and reading text submissions and answers uses no credits.
- Recordings are kept during a pause. Submissions keep arriving and you keep answering in text. Audio is processed when credits and processing capacity are available.
- Video storage and playback use no credits. Each plan includes video storage and playback, with a reasonable-use reference of hours watched per month; playback is never cut for exceeding it. Optional video transcription uses credits.
- Team members are one pool: you, your admins and your mentors. Clients never occupy team seats.
- 14 days free, no card required. There is no permanent free plan.

Starter is for getting started on your own or with one more person. Core is for solo professionals and small teams. Pro and Business offer more capacity for larger teams and programs.
All plans include one-off and recurring sessions, text and voice answers, answers shared with the whole group, a shared queue and mentors assigned to spaces, knowledge rooms, a space link and widget, your branding, a team, and similar answers built from your own team's earlier answers. Selling access with Stripe is included in every plan once you pay; it is not available on the free trial. A cancelled plan keeps selling until its paid period ends.
What a credit is
A credit is one minute of audio MentorDrop transcribes, with its copyable text and chapters. It counts by accumulated seconds, whoever made the recording: a mentor's voice answer or the sender's voice note. Audio processed in Qualify uses the same credit balance. All other automatic work is paid from the same balance at what it really costs: the similar answers shown on submitting, automatic question titles in the sessions that use them, automatic answers to questions about a library's videos, finding a live's answers to its questions in its recording, the articles you write and, in Qualify, creating or regenerating a flow, analysing material and evaluating applications. Each task costs what it really costs, with no per-action maximum. Processing with an unconfirmed cost remains reserved and visible in Billing. Studio and the emails show whole credits: what is spent or reserved rounded up, what you have left rounded down.
Without credits, Qualify never refuses an application or leaves an analysis half done: the link keeps accepting answers, and the analysis waits and resumes by itself once credits are available again. What you start in the editor (creating or regenerating a flow, preparing a suggestion, generating examples) can be run again then. Audio is counted separately by minute.
- You are charged when audio is processed, not when it is recorded. A recording that is not transcribed uses nothing.
- Writing and reading text submissions and answers uses no credits. The similar answers shown on submitting use the real cost of generating them, usually under one credit each.
- Plan credits renew every month and do not accumulate. From Billing you can add a pack of 1,000 credits for $59 or 59 € + VAT; those are used once the included ones are gone and expire one year after purchase.
Example: twelve five-minute recordings use 60 credits.
What happens when you run out of credits
- When 80% of the included credits have been used, admins receive an email, and another when the included credits and then the extra credits run out. In Studio they see, from 80% until the included credits run out and unless they have extra credits, the share of included credits left and, when no credits are left at all, a banner saying transcriptions, automatic answers, application assessment and articles are paused.
- Once included credits are used up, extra credits (from packs and gifts) are consumed. If credits or processing capacity are unavailable, recordings wait and are kept. Processing resumes when both are available; having extra credits does not guarantee uninterrupted processing. Text keeps working.
- Billing shows credits used, pending recordings and whether processing is paused.
You can wait until next month or add a pack. If you also need more team members or included credits each month, check the next plan.
Normal use of audio is included. Automated, bulk or abusive usage may be limited.
Video storage and playback
Library hosts the videos you offer your clients inside their Spaces. Storing and playing videos uses no credits. If you enable transcription in a library, it uses credits from the same balance as your other transcriptions.
- Hours are an estimate: a stored hour of video takes about 3 GB, the original plus the playback versions.
- What counts: the size the video host stores for each video once it has processed it, including the playback versions and the original. While a video uploads, its file size is reserved; the measured size replaces it a few minutes after processing. A video reused in several libraries counts once.
- Each file can be up to 4 GB.
- Videos, photos and files from submissions use the same storage: the videos and files attached to a form, and the videos, photos and files the sender and mentors send in replies when the session allows them (one video per reply, up to 4 GB). Photos are compressed when sent. A video stays while its submission does; an administrator can remove it from the thread to free its storage. A video uploaded but never sent is deleted after a day. Library covers count too, once compressed.
- When storage is full, new uploads are refused and every existing video keeps playing. Free up space or change plan; there are no storage packs. Delete a video to free its storage; it is released once the video host confirms the deletion, usually within minutes. Deleting stays available even if your account is read-only.
- Playback is included. Each plan has a reasonable-use reference of hours watched per month (see the table), shown in Billing. A busy month changes nothing; if your clients go over it two months in a row, Billing suggests the plan that fits. Playback is never cut and there are no video packs of any kind.
Team members
The team quota is checked when you add someone: Core seats 6 people across you, your admins and your mentors; for a seventh, move to Pro. Moving someone between mentor and admin uses no seat. Existing members stay when you downgrade.
Clients have no plan limit. You decide who has access to each space or all your spaces; removing the commercial quota does not open content to unauthorized people.
Spaces organize access to your programs and have no plan limit. They can bring together Q&A sessions, video libraries and events.
MentorDrop branding
Starter and the cardless free trial show “Powered by MentorDrop” in the widget and client page footers, including the public page of an event, a shared video or a Qualify flow. Core, Pro and Business hide it. Your own name and logo remain available in every plan; Studio keeps the MentorDrop identity.
How to read your usage
In Studio › Billing, check the dates for your credit cycle before comparing usage. Credits renew monthly even when you pay yearly.
Starter, Core, Pro or Business: choose by the size of your team, then check that the credits cover the audio you process each month. If you run short of credits once, a pack solves it; if it is every month, compare the next plan.
The free trial
- It lasts 14 days from the moment you verify your email and does not require a card.
- There is one free trial per email. If you open another account with an email that already had one, it starts without a trial: choose a plan in Billing to use it.
- It includes: 2 team members, 300 credits (5 h of audio) and 5 GB of video storage (about 1.5 hours), whichever plan you pick. No subscription and no hidden future charge is created.
- Paying during the trial: until day 14 you can choose Starter, Core, Pro or Business in Billing. The plan is charged that day, its limits apply at once, and you get extra credits as a one-time gift: 1,000 with Starter, 5,000 with Core, 10,000 with Pro and 20,000 with Business. From day 15 there is no gift.
- Extra credits cannot be bought during the trial: to get more, choose a plan.
- If the trial ends without payment, your account becomes read-only. Your submissions, answers, spaces, people and videos are kept, and you can still delete videos.
What are extra credits for?
To bring what you already have into MentorDrop, like session recordings or your course videos, without eating into the month's credits. That way you can start on a smaller plan and move up only when your day-to-day use calls for it. They're used once the plan's credits run out and expire after a year.
How you pay and how you cancel
You buy from Studio, under Billing. Checkout shows the currency, amount and first charge date before confirmation. Every plan is charged when you confirm the payment; if you subscribe during the trial, the plan starts that day. Subscriptions renew until you cancel from the available portal or by writing to hello [at] mentordrop.com; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, unless the law requires otherwise.
